At Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC, we enjoyed two nights of Seder Passover meals, serving over 170 adults and children. Join us for our other events during this Easter Week!
Join us tomorrow, March 30 at 7 pm for our Good Friday service at Redeemer Presbyterian Church at 43 Wentworth St. in Charleston, SC. During this special somber worship service in our sanctuary, we’ll meditate on Christ’s last seven sayings from the cross. Childcare will be provided for children ages 3 and under.
Our Redeemer Charleston team raised over $2200 for Water Mission with over 30 walkers on our team! What a beautiful day to walk and learn about the global water crisis–and help a local Charleston charity who’s having a global impact.
EASTER WEEK EVENTS: Redeemer has several events planned for Holy Week, so mark your calendars and celebrate Christ’s death and resurrection with us!
- Palm Sunday, March 25 | Galatians One-Man Show @ 6 pm
Our usual Christian-education classes for all ages are at 9:15 am. Our children’s classes will walk into the worship service waving palm branches at 10:30 am. Come back Sunday night at 6 where we’ll enjoy a special one-man presentation of Galatians by former Redeemer member Drew Archer of TheaTheos in our beautiful Fellowship Hall.
- Tuesday, Wednesday, March 27, 28 | Seder @ 6 pm
The Seder is a traditional Jewish Passover meal. We ask the same question this celebration has asked for centuries, “Why is this night different?” God commanded his people–prone to forgetfulness–to remember at the first of every year His deliverance from oppression and bondage under Pharaoh into the freedom of His ways. Likewise, we must worship by commemorating what God has done to free us from slavery to sin and futility in death by drawing us near through life in Christ.
We’ll start with a potluck supper first, so bring food to share. The church will provide the Seder nibbles and grape juice for the children, and we’re asking everyone to bring bottles of red wine (and a wine key/opener) and wine glasses for the Seder portion. Older children (K5 and up) are encouraged to take part in the Seder with the adults.
After the potluck supper, our 3- and 4-year-olds will have their own special Seder celebration downstairs in the Redeemer Kids room, and we’ll offer childcare for kids two and under in our nurseries downstairs.
We’ve scheduled two separate nights for our popular Seder Passover meal to help accommodate everyone who wants to participate. We’re asking our Tuesday community groups to attend on Tuesday, and our Wednesday community groups to attend on Wednesday.
Everyone else can pick the day that works best for them, but we need everyone to RSVP using this form to reserve your spot for the night you’d like to attend.
- Friday, March 30 | Good Friday Service @ 7 pm
This somber, meditative service will focus on Jesus and the cross. We will offer childcare for children under 4 years of age.
- Easter Sunday, April 1 | Easter Breakfast @ 9:15 am
Join our church family on Easter Sunday in the Fellowship Hall for a potluck breakfast. Bring breakfast dishes to share! After a quick breakfast, our preschool and elementary children will go downstairs to their classrooms for Easter activities at 9:45.
This year the kids will help decorate a cross displayed outside in the courtyard, so help your children pick flowers from your yard to bring and display in the cross at Redeemer.
To help us decorate the sanctuary for our Easter morning worship service, please bring Easter lilies if you’re able. Our worship service will begin at our usual time of 10:30 am. If you’re new, check out information about our worship service here–including parking!
Join Redeemer Charleston’s team as we raise money for Water Mission, Charleston’s local charity that builds safe water solutions. Every day millions of people have to walk miles and miles just for water. Most of the time, the water they can find is contaminated and makes them sick. We are excited because Water Mission is changing lives, one community at a time, through their sustainable safe water solutions. Each dollar raised by this event is going to make an impact through a safe water community development project!
Two ways to support our team:
- WALK – Join Redeemer Charleston’s team and walk with us on Saturday, March 17 at Riverfront Park in North Charleston.
- DONATE – Our goal for Redeemer Charleston’s team is $1500.
Whether you’ve been attending Redeemer for two months or two years, our inquirers’ class is a wonderful, casual way to learn more about Redeemer’s story–both how we fulfill our mission of being a Gospel-presence in Charleston and how you can be part of that mission. Our next class is Saturday, April 21 at the church, and we’d love for you to come! Get more details here about the class, our first step toward church membership. Plus read some comments and feedback from recent attendees! To reserve your spot, email Gray Morgan.
Wonder what happens at Redeemer during the week? We use our church buildings that God has so richly blessed us with to bless other organizations and people throughout Charleston. This past week our senior pastor welcomed top executives from Cru to Charleston and Redeemer. They used our sanctuary and newly renovated Fellowship Hall. We’re so happy to use our space for God’s glory!
On Saturday, January 27 as part of our Missions Emphasis weekend at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC, we hosted our Lowcountry Presbytery–both men and women leaders–at Redeemer for breakfast, worship, lunch, and meetings. With over 85 people served at lunch, our staff called on our Redeemer family at large to help set up, register attendees, make chili and cornbread, set tables, prepare desserts, clean up, and welcome our guests. We recruited community groups and other volunteers to help host, and our church family came together to be warm, welcoming, and hospitable. We demonstrated the gospel–freely giving to others what we have received. Thank you to all who helped in myriad ways–at last count it was over 50 individuals that came together to make this event wonderful! And our newly remodeled Fellowship Hall was beautiful!
