The Downtown Community Group is hosting a food and supply drive for Charleston Area Senior Citizens (CASC)—an outreach opportunity located just around the corner from us. Most CASC programs and services target low-income seniors and are offered at no charge. CASC runs a free food pantry at their Ansonborough House, provides free in-home care and services to those who are homebound, and runs a Meals-on-Wheels program to the Tri-County area. CASC is currently in need of non-food supplies (undergarments, linens, adult diapers, etc.) in addition to pantry staples. Here’s a full list of items needed. Contact a member of the Downtown Community Group or Laura Philpott for more info. Donations can be placed in the boxes in the foyer of the sanctuary where they’ll be collecting food and supplies through Sunday, August 9.
