The preschoolers learned their final Catechism questions this Sunday, July 5! This week’s questions and lesson were about how we can be saved. The children learned about Zacchaeus, a dishonest tax collector who cheated people out of money. When Jesus came and met Zacchaeus and showed him kindness that he didn’t deserve, Zacchaeus’ heart was changed, and he repented from his sin. The kids learned that we are like Zacchaeus and we deserve the wrath and punishment of God, but we can be saved through the covenant of grace. Even though we don’t deserve for God to love us or show us kindness, we can be saved from the punishment that we deserve because Jesus took the punishment for us! What great news for our children to learn!
46. How, then, can you be saved? By the Lord Jesus Christ through the covenant of grace.
BONUS: 58. What must you do to be saved? I must repent of my sin and believe in Christ as my Savior.
