Redeemer Family Welcome at Low Country Presbytery
Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC, is excited to host the first meeting of the newly formed Low Country Presbytery this Saturday, January 23. The new presbytery includes PCA churches in the greater Charleston area, Bluffton/Hilton Head area, and Orangeburg.
Each presbytery meeting begins with a worship service at 9 am. As always, Redeemer’s choir will be leading the worship, and Craig will be preaching from Haggai 1:12-2:9. We will also celebrate the Lord’s Supper together. Read the electronic bulletin here.
After a brief break, presbytery will walk three blocks to St. John’s Reformed Episcopal Church on Anson Street. Once inside, we will hear a brief history of that building and the unique ministry that famous 19th-century southern Presbyterian scholar and preacher Dr. John Girardeau had there. Following the history, we will have a discussion on prayer and revival–an emphasis of Girardeau’s, racial diversity within the PCA, and church planting.
The Redeemer family is invited to both the worship service and the time at St. John’s. Historically, church members do not attend presbytery, but it is a new day! We have an opportunity to set a beautiful, new precedent for the new Low Country Presbytery. Y’all come!
*Please use the parking garage at 69 Wentworth St., so we can reserve the spaces in our parking lots for the other members of our presbytery less familiar with Downtown Charleston.
