On Sunday, March 3 our senior pastor continued preaching through the Lord’s Prayer from Matthew 6:9-13. Focusing on Jesus’ use of a familiar term for God–calling him “Father,” Pastor Craig challenged us to keep a balance between austerity and irreverence as we seek to be intimate with the holy. The religious leaders of Jesus’ day only thought of God as a distant, awesome deity; so when Jesus called him “Father” in the Lord’s Prayer, it was so innovative. Jesus put before the people (and us) the possibility of knowing God intimately. Listen to the whole sermon here.
