Last Saturday our latest inquirers at Redeemer gathered for a day of fellowship, food, and stories about the church. Pastor Craig leads these classes, which is our first step toward church membership, and he offers an informal way to ask questions, hear about Redeemer’s history and mission, and meet other newcomers to the Redeemer family. Here’s what some recent attendees are saying about the class:
My wife and I came out of the inquirers’ class more excited than we expected to be. We loved learning about the history of the church and how we came to be in this historic building, and the overview of the tenets of Redeemer’s beliefs were educational and reassuring. What’s more, it was actually a pretty fun experience, foreshadowing a very fun and fulfilling membership at Redeemer. –Richard, May 2016 attendee
I loved being able to connect with others who are newer to the church over meals during the class. The content was also really good. It was exciting to hear about the Lord’s faithfulness to this church through some of the stories Craig told. –Ashley B., May 2016 attendee
Sam and I really enjoyed the inquirers’ class. Pastor Bailey is extremely knowledgeable but also so warm and approachable/relatable. I felt very comfortable asking questions during the class and was always satisfied with Pastor Bailey’s (and Chris Bennett’s) thoughtful responses. I walked away from the class with an appreciation for the formation and growth of RPC, a deeper understanding of PCA, and some budding new friendships. I walked away with a few new questions too, but also with confidence that this is the church where I want to explore those questions. The emphasis on the gospel is so apparent, and the teaching is outstanding. I’ve learned more in a few Sundays at RPC than I have in months – even years – at other Presbyterian churches. –Ashley M., May 2016 attendee
Our next inquirers’ class will most likely be in September 2016. Email Gray Morgan if you’re interested in this next class, so she can contact you directly when the date is set.
