Many hands make light work! Last Saturday, August 5 lots of Redeemer folks of all ages gathered for a work day to help move trash and stuff out of the second and third floors, so the construction crews could continue their labors this week. Thanks to everyone who came to help!
Last week we celebrated Ms. Ashley’s birthday at the end of our class with a special birthday candle/firework! She coordinates our Children’s Committee working tirelessly to help teach our little ones, encourage parents in the nurture of their children, and celebrate the beauty and wonder of God’s Word each week with our Redeemer Kids. We love you, Ms. Ashley!!
Construction mess doesn’t dampen the learning spirits of these little ones! Redeemer Kids, our Christian-education class for preschool and elementary children, listened last Sunday, May 7 to the familiar story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Read more here about the class. We also have classes for youth and adults plus a nursery for children under 3. So bring your family and join us Sunday mornings at 9:15!
Last Sunday, April 30 we at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC, enjoyed a special joint worship service with our neighbors around the corner at St. John’s Reformed Episcopal Church. Back in January, we hosted their congregation for a joint service, and last month they hosted us. We feasted in their beautiful courtyard behind their sanctuary after the worship service. How wonderful it was to worship across cultures, races, and denominations!
This past Sunday, April 23 our Redeemer Kids enjoyed a visit from our senior pastor! He stopped in to talk with our little ones in preschool and elementary school about communion and its importance and significance.
Some of our delightful children made a joyful noise unto the Lord on Palm Sunday this past Sunday, April 9 at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC. Join us for additional Easter Week events that celebrate the Risen Christ!
Redeemer Charleston’s team at Saturday’s Walk for Water enjoyed a beautiful day walking for a great cause! Water Mission, a local Charleston charity, is changing lives, one community at a time, through their sustainable safe water solutions. Our team was 2/3 children, and we rocked this event that had nearly 5,000 walkers! If you’d like to give toward our team goal, you can donate here. We’ve raised over $1,200 already!
Our preschool and elementary children at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC, made suitcases this week in the Christian-education hour. The stories in their new series Tell Me the Stories of Jesus have involved traveling–from the shepherds and wise men to Mary, Joseph, and Jesus’ escape to Egypt. Plus there’s always fun games, lots of singing, and an exciting storytime for Redeemer Kids.
