Memorizing Scripture | RK Recap, July 12

Redeemer Presbyterian Church, Charleston, SC, preschool, elementaryThis past Sunday, July 12 the preschool class had their recitation celebration for their final set of Catechism questions! For the remainder of the summer, they will continue reviewing the Catechism questions they have learned thus far.

This summer they will also be memorizing Psalm 100. It is so important for all of us to memorize Scripture and hide God’s Word in our heart. I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11

There is no better time to begin than with small children who soak up information like sponges and memorize so easily. Even if they do not fully understand the meaning of all the words now, they will keep these words in their hearts and the Lord will remind them of the words they memorized when they need to remember them most.

Psalm 100 – His Steadfast Love Endures Forever
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
