NEW Lowcountry Youth Group Forming

Redeemer Presbyterian Church, Charleston, SC, Sermon ResponseWith our newly formed presbytery comes exciting opportunities for ministry and community! Last month representatives from six area PCA churches: Church Creek, Eastbridge, Metro North, Oakbrook, Redeemer, and Two Rivers met to plan how we can intentionally provide our youth with community, good teaching, and opportunities for service. So here’s the plan: The Lowcountry Youth Group will be open to anyone in grades 6-12. They’ll gather on the first Sunday evening of each month from 5-7 pm, and this monthly event will rotate among each of the participating churches.

Each monthly event will provide an opportunity for the youth to: build community through games, activities, etc., worship together through singing and prayer, learn together through teaching designed for youth, and fellowship together around a table with good food. We’ll also include intentional planning for opportunities for the youth to serve together to instill in them the dignity, beauty, and blessing of work and service to others.

Not only do we ask that you commit to participating in these events (even when not hosted by Redeemer), but we ask you to pray for their impact and success–particularly of this first event on Sunday, March 6. We desire that this Lowcountry Youth Group will meet a felt need in the lives of our covenant children and their friends and that the Lord will use it to build His Kingdom and make a difference in the lives of our youth and their community for Jesus’ sake.

If you have any questions, need additional information, or would like to volunteer to help with this first event, please contact Craig Bailey.
