God Calls Us to Worship

Read in unison from Psalm 147:1–5, 10
Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.
The Lord builds up Jerusalem.
He gathers the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
He determines the number of the stars.
He gives to all of them their names.
Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.
Praise the Lord!

We Sing Praises to God

Sing Indescribable as Fred Hudson leads us. Click here for the link or watch the embedded video.

INDESCRIBABLE
From the highest of heights, To the depths of the sea
Creation’s revealing Your majesty,
From the colors of fall, To the fragrance of spring,
Ev’ry creature unique, And the song that it sings
All exclaiming

Indescribable uncontainable, You placed the stars in the sky
And You know them by name, You are amazing God
All powerful untamable, Awestruck we fall to our knees
As we humbly proclaim, You are amazing, God

Who has told ev’ry lightning bolt, Where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses, Laden with snow
Who imagined the sun, And gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us, The coolness of night
None can fathom (chorus)

Sing I Stand Amazed as Fred leads us. Click here for the link or watch the embedded video.

I STAND AMAZED (MY SAVIOR’S LOVE)
I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene
And wonder how He could love me
A sinner condemned unclean
How marvelous how wonderful
And my song shall ever be

How marvelous how wonderful
Is my Savior’s love for me

He took my sins and my sorrows
He made them His very own
He bore the burden to Calvary
And suffered and died alone (chorus)

When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see
‘Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me (chorus)

God Reveals His Will for Our Lives

Read from Ephesians 3:14-19
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

We Confess Our Sins to God

The Apostle Paul bows before the Father in heaven because of the glory and majesty of His redeeming work around the world. God IS recreating men and women, young and old. Paul bows because the riches of Christ are unsearchable. He bows before the God of mystery and the mystery of the Good News of Jesus Christ. He bows because the wisdom of God has so many facets.

If you have not been overwhelmed, humbled, and driven to your knees by the majesty and mystery and riches and wisdom of Christ, confess that.

If you have given in to the weakness of sin instead of seeking the power of the Spirit to strengthen you in your inner being, confess that.

If you have not been rooted in love–if love for Christ and love for others has not been the foundation of your thinking and your doing and your being, confess that.

If you have limited Christ in any way and not been lost in the wonder of the breadth and length and height and depth of His love and His power, confess that.

God Assures Us of His Forgiveness

Read from Ephesians 3:20-21
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Sing His Mercy Is More as Fred leads us. Click here for the link or watch the embedded video.

HIS MERCY IS MORE
What love could remember no wrongs we have done?
Omniscient, all-knowing, He counts not their sum.
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore,
Our sins, they are many, His mercy is more.

Praise the Lord! His mercy is more.
Stronger than darkness, new every morn,
Our sins, they are many, His mercy is more.

What patience would wait as we constantly roam?
What Father, so tender, is calling us home?
He welcomes the weakest, the vilest, the poor.
Our sins, they are many, His mercy is more (chorus)

What riches of kindness He lavished on us!
His blood was the payment; His life was the cost.
We stood ‘neath a debt we could never afford.
Our sins, they are many, His mercy is more. (chorus)

We Pray for God’s People, Work, & World

Imagine a world where God’s justice, love, mercy, compassion, and grace are sought and embraced. Let what you imagine guide your prayer.

Imagine a world where God’s people are filled with and radiate the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control of the Holy Spirit. Let the difference you imagine these kind of people can make guide your prayer.

We Hear God’s Word (Sermon)

Especially good for families, Bible Project offers short audio and video clips plus discussion questions centered around Scripture. Click here to check out their many Church at Home guides.

Rev. Craig Bailey preaches this week from John 21:25, including an introduction and one part.

Questions from the Introduction:

  1. How does your intellect or reason and your imagination interact in your life?

25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

John 21:25

Sing I Can Only Imagine as Fred leads us. Click here for the link or watch the embedded video.

I CAN ONLY IMAGINE
I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk by Your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When Your face is before me
I can only imagine

Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for You Jesus
Or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine (yeah)
I can only imagine

I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever forever worship You
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
